1. Become an Industry Resource

Whatever business you're in, chances are that you're keeping up with industry news and maybe even writing about it on your blog. You're likely running educational webinars or speaking at industry conferences. You're also engaging with customers, helping to solve their business problems and maybe even documenting the process with case studies. This means that you probably already have a large number of resources to share. Why not funnel this content onto Facebook and make your Page the go-to place for insights and information on your particular industry?

3. Expand Beyond Your Wall

There are now a host of different applications for Facebook that let you do more than post on your wall. If you're selling B2B products online, you can set up a shopping tab on your page to drive traffic to your e-commerce site and encourage viral sharing of your products. Get Satisfaction, a popular social CRM and customer support platform, recently launched a Facebook version of its application so your customers can ask questions and get support right on your Facebook Page.

You can also set up a promotions tab using Fan Appz to offer special deals to your Facebook fans and even use these deals to support lead generation programs. For example, if you sell software licenses, you could offer a 20% discount on the annual fee for people who enter the promotion code at an upcoming webinar or bring the coupon to your booth at a conference.

4. Lighten Up

While many of us use Facebook in our day-to-day business, the vast majority are usually there to have fun and engage with friends. So no matter how serious your product is, inject some humor and levity into your page.

For example, if you're selling enterprise security software, why not do a poll where people rate the most evil tech baddies in films like Hackers and The Terminator? If you're a marketing agency, you could do a "WhichMad Men Character Are You?" quiz that assigns users an identity based on their answers, which can then be shared with their friends. Just keep it relevant to your industry and safe-for-work.

And even if your website needs to stay "all business," Facebook is where you can give a face and personality to the company. You could do an "employee of the month" feature on the page where you profile someone who's making a big difference at the company or who achieved a significant milestone. Include photos or even a short video.

You can highlight what the company or employees are doing in the community or in support of a particular cause, which has the added benefit of putting the weight of your fan base behind these efforts. You can also consider posting behind-the-scenes photos of engineers hard at work on the next product release, or a smiling customer service rep on the phone with a client. All of these ideas will help your fans make a stronger and more personal connection with your company.

Angioplasty has proved to be a boon for patients suffering from heart diseases in the last 2-3 decades. It is efficient, economical, time-saving and involves less fuss. But in spite of that, there are a few side-effects of angioplasty as well. Let’s have a look at what could be the possible risks involved in and how to overcome them. The biggest threat involved in the procedure of angioplasty is that of tearing or bursting of the artery due to unsustainably high pressure. This leads to total blockage and could lead to heart attack. This problem could be repaired with a stent. Sometimes, the dislodged clot gets stuck in some other place, leading to possibility of stroke. There could be bleeding or bruising at the site of catheter. In angioplasty, X-rays using iodine contrast dye are responsible for kidney problems. This can be treated by giving intravenous fluids and medications before and after the procedure. Angioplasty causesirregular heartbeat in some patients and in about 3 to 5 % of the cases, heart attack occurs. Some patients develop allergic reactions towards the dye given during the procedure. Sometimes, in about 2 to 4 % cases, the affected artery closes down instead of opening up.In such cases an emergency bypass surgery of the coronary artery is performed. One of the most common side-effect of angioplasty is Restenosis. It refers to the gradual re-narrowing of the blood vessels within next few weeks after the procedure. The exact cause is unknown yet but experts say that blood clots occurring at or near the site of treatment could be the cause of restenosis and the risk factor increases in patients with hypertension, diabetes, angina or kidney disease. The side-effects of angioplasty are profoundly seen in elderly patients (age 75+), diabetics, patients with kidney problems and those with poor pumping function of their heart. Women are at a greater risk of encountering complications. However, almost all the side-effects are curable and the death rate among patients who have had angioplasty is very small (about 0.1%).Thus side-effects are relatively low-risk type and could be ruled out with due precaution and treatment. How We Think Matters

The image of the Titanic sinking, immortalized in a movie is a defining visual of how the unimaginable can become possible and how 'rock solid' assumptions are mistaken for facts. Those closest to the Titanic were the ones most convinced of her invincibility.

"We believe that the boat is unsinkable." Philip Franklin, Vice-President of White Star Line, 8-00 a.m., April 15, 1912.

"I cannot imagine any condition which would cause the ship to founder. I cannot conceive of any vital disaster happening to this vessel. Modern shipbuilding has gone beyond that." ? Captain Edward Smith.

We all, at some point of time, fall a victim to the Titanic mindset, "Since I am so sure, I can't be wrong," and some of us most of the times. This is because the way we think influences the way we behave and we all 'see' the world through the prism of our own attitudes shaped by the forces of nature and nurture. The first step to make a shift in our mindset is to understand how we think and our dominant preferences.

Whole Brain Thinking Background
In the 16th century, when Rene Descartes declared "I think, therefore I am" he put a spotlight on the importance of thinking. Four hundred years later, Ned Herrmann took this question further when he experienced an epiphany after reading an article by Henry Mintzberg in the HBR. The article asked a powerful question that haunted him ? "How come managers can be so smart and yet dull at the same time?"

Ned Herrmann was a polymath, a singer (he sang at Carnegie Hall), a sculptor, a physicist by training from Carnegie Mellon, and he was also the head of Management Development at GE, at that time.

This question intrigued him in the sense it was a question vital to help him understand himself better.

GE supported Ned's experiments and applications and the pursuit of the 'aha' of the Mintzberg Moment during the late '70s, and it was these activities that led to the development of the whole brain concept and the Herrmann Brain Dominant Instrument HBDI®.

The Whole Brain Thinking Concept
Ned Herrmann combined Sperry's work and MacLean's research (both renowned Nobel Prize winning scientists) to create his Whole Brain Model, which emphasizes the fact that there are really four parts of the brain where dominances exist: Cerebral left, Limbic Left, Limbic Right, and Cerebral Right. These four styles or 'mindsets' are known as quadrants A, B, C, and

This is of course a metaphorical mode that describes how each of us has a preferred way and mode of thinking that affects the way we receive and process information. The awareness of one's own thinking style and that of others, combined with the ability to act outside of one's preferred thinking style is known as Whole Brain Thinking*

Tuning in
For a good metaphor to understand how the Whole Brain Thinking model works, consider for a moment that our brain is a radio and that we have our favorite stations that we are 'tuned to ' and listen to more often. These favorite stations are our dominant thinking preferences ? we all have at least one dominant preference.
The model helps us understand which 'stations' we have a preference for and which we 'avoid', and there is nothing right or wrong if some of us prefer tuning into different stations. It also tells us that each of us has an access to each station. If we don't listen to a station often, it may require some work for us to tune in. The faster we are able to tune into the right station given the situation, the more effective we will be. We don't need to stay tuned in to stations we do not prefer but tune in only when required.* (for more please read 'The Creative Brain' by Ned Herrmann.)

Whole Brain Thinking and the HBDI®
The Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI®) is the instrument that accurately identifies one's thinking preferences. This instrument is very easy to administer given that it is online ,takes only 20 minutes to fill in and provides an accurate, visual , validated profile of how one thinks and more importantly, how one thinks under pressure.

Over 2 million people world-wide have been administered the profile and in India, we have administered the profile to over 1,200 managers from 32 companies.

Examples of HBDI profiles reflecting the dominance of each quadrant. The white lines indicate how the individual thinks under stress conditions.

The inner concentric circle indicates avoidance in that quadrant, the circle next to that indicates secondary thinking preferences and the last two concentric circles indicate primary thinking preferences in that quadrant.

The funny part of our consulting work is helping managers understand the implications of their profiles. Every profile is a 'story' and in interpreting the story, people gain insights that help them make significant changes in the way they approach issues and change their behavior toward the team, colleagues, clients, and at home.

The CEO of a large manufacturing company was a 'high blue' ? a very analytical, fact based, and precise person. He was impatient with people who took too long to get to the point. He was also very sure of his approach, had a high focus on task and numbers, and saw no need to change. After all, he was very successful having steered the company to new heights, the quintessential 'Captain of the Titanic". Under pressure, he became even more analytical and as his people would say privately he was the 'iceman' apparently bereft of emotion. Not completely true of course, he was emotional, but he prided himself on his ability to keep his feelings under check.

He 'saw' the world very differently from his deputy – the Vice President of Service who was more people focused, believed in relationships, and who was very approachable. He respected the abilities of his deputy, however, but was worried that he was too soft on people. On their one-on-one's, he repeatedly suggested to his deputy that he should be tougher and develop the ability to take 'hard' decisions.
Their weekly meetings were becoming increasingly strained and unproductive and when both of them completed their HBDI profiles, it was as if the lights went on ? a 'aha' moment.
They both saw how differently they 'viewed' the world and this acceptance of differences made the CEO open to change. The CEO requested his deputy to address the monthly staff meetings, which earlier, the CEO used to do. The outcome of this 'small' change was that while it was very difficult for the CEO in the initial meetings to control his impatience,? his deputy took 15 minutes to 'warm up' ? he found that when he spoke later, the team was much more receptive to his messages. For the deputy, he began to understand the importance of being succinct and precise.

Harnessing Potential
The power of the Whole Brain Thinking model is the ability to help people and teams change their mindsets. The HBDI is a cognitive tool, it is visual, it does not pigeonhole you in a box nor label you as a certain type, and there lies its almost universal acceptance.
A greater realization for people is that there are four equally valid and relevant ways of thinking and the goal is really to stretch oneself into quadrants where one has an avoidance and become 'situationally whole' when required.

We believe that the larger goal for individuals, teams, and organizations is to move three levels to harness the full potential of their people and teams: From the first level of just 'tolerating' differences to the next level of 'accepting' differences to third level of ' honouring' differences.

This journey can be extremely rewarding in terms of personal growth as well as for organizations in terms of unleashing the power of true collaborative working.

Depending upon the company, another strategy is not to cover it up, but to proudly proclaim the fart as your own grand accomplishment and to issue a challenge to the others to outdo that one if they think they can.

As for the sound... if you are in a large group of people, act oblivious and innocent, or glance quickly at the person next to you, as if you think he/she did it. Other strategies include coughing or suddenly moving your chair so that people think that they misheard the fart. If you are with one other person, you can act as if nothing happened, and the other person may believe he was mistaken in thinking he heard a fart.

Where does fart gas come from?

 

The gas in our intestines comes from several sources: air we swallow, gas seeping into our intestines from our blood, gas produced by chemical reactions in our guts, and gas produced by bacteria living in our guts.

A major source of fart gas is bacterial action. Bacterial fermentation and digestion processes produce heat as a byproduct as well as various pungent gases. The resulting bubbles of gas tend to be small, hot, and concentrated with stinky bacterial metabolic products. These emerge as the notorious, warm, SBD (Silent-But-Deadly), often in amounts too small to produce a good sound, but excelling in stench.

Beans contain sugars that we humans cannot digest. The most offensive sugars, known as "flatulence factors" to scientists who research farts, are raffinose, stachiose, and verbascose. When these sugars reach our intestines, the bacteria go wild, have a big feast, and make lots of gas!

Salman's turnaround came just before Dabangg, which was also the time Arbaaz had hit rock bottom in his career. "Salman wanted to make Dabangg work for Arbaaz," says Sajid. "And he took charge of the film like the dutiful elder brother." It also helped that there were no distractions (read women) in his life then. 

Salman was allegedly unhappy with the way his finances were being handled. He hired business managers who took charge of his brand endorsements, television appearances and accounts. "All his peers were minting money on TV and Salman, who realised he had a fantastic connect with his TV audience, was determined to milk it," says a Salman watcher. 

With Bigg Boss, which came close on the heels Dabangg, Salman's impossibly lucky streak continued. Here too the star showed how serious he was about getting it right. He worked hard on the promos and made sure the TV channel made good the investments it had made in the star, which was Rs 24 crore.

 

Along the way, he also assumed the role of a mentor for protégé Sonakshi and despite his breakup with Katrina, continued to be protective about her.

Says Ashvini Yardi, programming head of the channel that hosts Bigg Boss, "Salman's persona appeals to both the classes and the masses. His unique sense of humour, spontaneity and ability to connect with everyone and his Dabangg attitude took Bigg Boss to new heights this season." 


The new-found confidence is also attributed to his getting smart about money. With Matrix hired to manage his endorsements and finances, Salman is laying down the rules for every ramp he walks on, every ribbon he cuts. He has refused to attend awards shows unless he is given a live performance slot, for which he charges anything between Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 crore. For films, he is demanding something like Rs 30 crore. On several occasions he has also demanded that his remuneration be donated for his charity Being Human, which incidentally has ventured into branded retailing. 

Everyone wants a piece of Salman and he is in no mood to give any. Story has it, Himesh Reshammiya, who had a famous fallout with the star from which his career never quite recovered, called him recently saying he was in the vicinity and wanted his audience for a few minutes. Salman kept him waiting for three hours, during which Himesh made several rounds of Galaxy apartments. Salman eventually met Himesh for 30 seconds, only to tell him that he had no time for him.

Not to be proud and arrogant after achieving success, in this world, recite this dua'a regularly.

According to the Holy prophet whoso recited these verses daily after the Fajr salat, gets sufficient means of livelihood. Also the reciter gets enough funds to repay loans. To discard nervousness in big public gatherings, or if there is fear of a person or a group of persons recite this dua'a.

O Allah, master of the kingdom. You give kingdom to whomsoever You like and take away the kingdom from whosoever You like. You exalt whomsoever you like and abases whomsoever You like; in Your hand is the good; verily You have the power over all things. You cause the night to pass into the day, and You cause the day to pass into the night; You bring forth the living from the dead, and You bring forth the dead from the living, and You give sustenance to whom You like, without measure.

The Karnal Technology Of Sewage Treatment & ZERO Discharge

The Karnal Technology involves growing tree on ridges 1m wide and 50cm high  and disposing of the treated effluent in furrows.  The amount of the  effluents to be disposed off depends upon the age, type of plants, climatic conditions, soil texture and quality of effluents.  The total discharge of effluent is so regulated that it is consumed within 12-18 hours and there is no standing water left in the trenches.  Through this technique, it is possible to dispose off 0.3 to 1.0 ML of effluent per day per hectare. This technique utilizes the entire biomass as living filter for supplying nutrients to soil and plant; irrigation renovates the effluent for atmospheric re-charge and ground storage.  Further, as forest plants are to be used for fuel wood, timber or pulp, there is no chance of pathogens, heavy metals and organic compounds to enter into the human food chain system, a point that is a limiting factor when vegetables or other crops are grown with sewage.

Though most of the plants are suitable for utilizing the effluents, yet, those tree species which are fast growing can transpire high amounts of water and are able to with stand high moisture content in the root environment are most suitable for such purposes.  Eucalyptus is one such species, which has the capacity to transpire large amounts of water, and remains active through out the year . 

Other species suitable for this purpose are poplar and leucaena.  Out of these three species, eucalyptus seems to be the best choice as poplar remains dormant in winter and thus cannot bio-drain effluent during winter months , However, if area is available and the volume of effluent is small, a combination of popular and eucalyptus is the best propagation.
This technology for effluent water use is relatively cheap and no major capital is involved.  The expenditure of adopting this technology involves cost of making ridges, cost of plantation and their care.

This system generates gross returns from the sale of fuel wood.  The sludge accumulating in the furrows along with the decaying forest litter can be exploited as an additional source of revenue.
As the sewage water itself provides nutrients and irrigation ameliorates the sodic soil by lowering the pH, relatively unfertile wastelands can be used for this purpose.  This technology is economically viable as it involves only the cost of water conveyance from source to fields for irrigation and does not require highly skilled personnel as well.  This technology seems to be most appropriate and economical viable proposition for the rural areas as this technology is used to raise forestry, which would aid in re-storing environment and to generate biomass
