The secrets of supplication

‘The Believer’s weapon’ is how the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) described du’a. ‘A slack bow’ is how Ibn-ul-Qayyim (ra) described the du’a that . . .
People often wonder why their du’as are not accepted, especially when they hear or read the ayah:
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
“And your Rabb said: Call me, I will accept your call.”
In fact, the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) is reported to have said, “Whoever is given du’a is (also) given acceptance because Allah, Most High, says: Call me, I will accept your call.” It is also narrated from the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) that, “Allah does not open the door of du’a for a servant yet close on him the door of acceptance.” Thus, Ibn ‘Umar (ra)’s freed slave, Nafi’ (ra), narrates that he heard his former master say on the top of Mount Safa, “O Allah! You said: Call me, I will accept your call and You do not break your promises. I therefore implore You that, having guided me to Islam, (please) do not snatch it away from me until You grant me death while I am a Muslim.”
– Reason One
One reason (although not too common) for the non-acceptance of du’a is the du’a itself. This is when the du’a entails something disliked by Allah, Most High. For example, a man makes du’a to win the lottery or he makes du’a for barakah in his liquor business. A du’a of this sort could be compared to incorrect medication. For example, a diabetic taking hypertension medication to reduce his blood sugar levels. Du’as entailing things that disliked by Allah are fruitless just as incorrect medication yields no results.
– Reason Two
A second reason is inattention of the person making du’a. In the worldly life, inattention when speaking to people is regarded as rude. Inattention when seeking somebody’s assistance is not only rude; it indicates a lack of urgency and therefore unconvincing. In du’a, we speak to Allah and seek His assistance. Hence, paying attention and focusing on Allah is of paramount importance. Inattention in du’a is rudeness to Allah. Can we be rude to Allah and expect Him to still accept our du’as? Inattention in du’a also implies that, Allah forbid, we are not really in need of Allah’s help. Can anybody claim independence from Allah? It is for this reason that the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) said that, “. . . Allah does not accept du’a from a negligent, thoughtless heart.” ‘Like a slack bow’ is how Ibn-ul-Qayyim (ra) described such a du’a. How far will the arrow travel if the bow is slack? If I say, ‘not too far’, you’ll probably say, ‘it will hardly leave the bow’. Just as you cannot hunt with a slack bow, you cannot seek Allah’s assistance with a ‘slack’ du’a – a du’a without concentration. I would compare a person who makes du’a in this manner to a hunter who has the best firearm but does not aim correctly. Alternatively, such a du’a could be compared to incorrectly administered medication. Do you blame your GP, the antibiotic he prescribed or yourself if you do not complete the course?
– Reason Three
The reason for the non-acceptance of du’a comprises of three aspects:
a. Consumption of haram food and drink – On one occasion, the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) quoted the ayat “O Messengers! Eat from the pure (halal) things and do good actions, I am fully aware of whatever you do” and “O those who brought Iman! Eat from the pure (halal) sustenance that we give you.” He thereafter spoke of a traveler on a long journey – his hair is disheveled and his clothes are covered in dust. “Stretching his hands to the sky, he cries ‘O my Rabb! O my Rabb!’ but his food is haram, his clothes are haram and he has been nourished with haram substances. How can his du’a be accepted?”
b. Excessive sin – A narration in Imam Ahmad (ra)’s Kitab-uz-Zuhd tells us that at the time of a particular period of difficulty experienced by the Bani Isra’eel, they all went out of their town in order to beg Allah for His assistance. Allah, however, commanded their Nabi to inform them that, “You are going out to the fields with impure clothes. You raise to me hands by means of which you have shed blood and filled your houses with haram. Now, when I am severely angry with you? (If this is your attitude) you will only get further from me!” In this regard, Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (ra) said that, “a small amount of du’a similar to the amount of salt required when cooking is sufficient if you are righteous.”
c. Haste – the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) said, “The du’a of one of you will be accepted so long as he is not hasty, saying ‘I made du’a but it was not accepted.”
d. Doubt in the acceptance of one’s du’a – the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) said, “Make du’a with conviction that your du’a will be accepted.” It is for this reason that we have been prohibited from saying, ‘O Allah, forgive me if you desire’.
Du’a accompanied with any of the above could be likened to a diabetic who takes his medication religiously but does not reduce his sugar intake.
– Similar to Salah
Explaining the above in a different manner, many scholars mention that acceptance of du’a is similar to the validity of salah. Just as the validity of salah depends on certain shuroot (conditions), the acceptance of du’a is also dependent on certain shuroot.
Is salah valid without wudoo? Is salah valid if the awrah (private area) is exposed? Is salah valid if the musallee’s clothes are najas (impure)? Is salah valid if the musallee (person performing salah) does not face the qiblah? The answer to all these questions is ‘No!’ Why not? Because wudoo, concealment of the awrah (private area), taharah (purity) of clothes and facing the qiblah are all shuroot for the validity of salah. The acceptance of du’a is similar; it depends on certain shuroot.
– There are two types of conditions for the acceptance of du’a:
1. The conditions of the person making du’a – They are:
a. Conviction that nobody but Allah is able to fulfill his need
b. Conviction that all apparent means for fulfillment of his need are controlled entirely by Allah
c. Conviction that one’s du’a will be accepted
d. Sincerity
e. Concentration
f. Abstention from haram food, drink etc.
g. Perseverance – He must not get tired of making du’a.
2. The shuroot of the du’a – There is only one shart (condition) in this regard viz. permissibility, whatever you are making du’a for must be permissible.
– Three Levels of Du’a
The strength of the du’a also plays a role in its acceptance. In this regard, there are three levels of du’a:
  1. The du’a is stronger than the difficulty and therefore deflects it.
  2. The du’a is weaker than the difficulty and therefore unable to deflect it.
  3. The du’a is neither stronger nor weaker than the difficulty. In this instance too, the du’a is unable to deflect the difficulty. In the words of a hadith attributed to the Messenger of Allah (Allah peace be upon him), the du’a and difficulty “wrestle with each other”.
In short, one reason for the non-acceptance of du’a is insufficiency – you are not making enough du’a. A learner failed the physics examination. “Why did you not study?” his father scolded. “But I did study” he pleaded. That was the truth. He did study, except that he only did so on the night preceding the examination. How much could he cram in one night? So yes, he did study, but it was not enough. The same applies to du’a. We often make du’a, but not enough.
-I Love Hearing His Voice
Conversely, what is sometimes construed as rejection of du’a is actually a delay – it will be accepted, but not yet. Put differently, the du’a is accepted but the need is not yet fulfilled. The reason for this is the sincerity, dedication and humility of the person making the du’a. It is mentioned in some narrations that when a person who is loved by Allah makes du’a, Allah tells Jibreel (as), “Do not be hasty in fulfilling my servant’s need because I love hearing his voice.”
-One of Three Things
In fact, Sayyiduna Abu Sa’eed (ra) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) said that whenever a Muslim makes du’a in which there is neither sin nor severance of family ties, Allah gives him one of three things:
1. Allah fulfils his request
2. He stores the reward of his du’a for the Hereafter
3. He averts an equal amount of hardship from his path.
“Then we will make a lot of du’a” said the Sahabah (ra) when they heard this. the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s peace be upon him) replied that no matter how much du’a they make; Allah’s treasures are always more!
Considering the divine promise in ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ (Call me, I will accept your call) and the above narration, many scholars have concluded that Allah accepts all du’as. Nevertheless, rejection of du’a due to reasons explained thus far is also a reality. Observation of the shuroot (conditions) of du’a is therefore essential.
– With Fear and Desire
وَادعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا إِنَّ رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Call Him with fear and desire. Certainly, Allah’s mercy is close to the good-doers.
According to one interpretation, خَوْفًا (khawf) indicates fear that one’s du’a may be rejected and طَمَعًا refers to desire for one’s du’a to be accepted. Furthermore, acceptance of du’a is only due to Allah’s mercy. Hence, we conclude that du’a accompanied with fear and hope is close to acceptance (sure to be accepted). ‘Like the two wings of a bird’ is how Shaikh Ahmad As-Sawi described such fear and hope. No bird flies with only one wing. Similarly, our du’as do not ‘fly’ to Allah without the wings of fear and hope.
Observe all the conditions and adab (etiquette) of du’a and do not ever give up because ‘the door is eventually opened for the one who does not stop knocking’.

POST NUMBER :08   Date : 02/05/2004
FLOW CHART: CRUSHER(less than 7mm particle size)----thermophilic Aerobic digester(Temp 55 degree C  )---Mesophilic Anaerobic Digester(37 Degree C )---Manure Pit
Biotechnology process
stage one : hydrolysis by hydrolytic bactaria, conversion of extracellular molecules
stage two : thermophilic fermentation based on carbohydrates
stage three : synthesis of volatile fatty acids by acetogenic bacteria
stage four : synthesis of methane by methanogenic organisms

The Principle:

Add bio degradable Solid waste  into predigestor tank.
Use of thermophilic microbes for faster degradation of the waste. The growth of thermophiles in the predigestor tank is assured by mixing the waste with hot water and maintaining the temperature in the range of 55-60oC. The hot water supply is from a solar heater. Even one-hour sunlight is sufficient per day to meet the needs of hot water.

After the predigestor tank the slurry enters the main anaerobic tank where it undergoes mainly anaerobic degra-dation by a consortium of archae-bacteria belonging to Methanococcus group.  They produce mainly methane from the cellulosic materials in the slurry.

The undigested lignocellulosic and hemicellulosic materials then are passed on in the settling tank. After about a month high quality manure can be dug out from the settling tanks. Earth worm can be introduced to settling tank to speedup the process. There is no odour to the manure at all. The organic contents are high and this can improve the quality of humus in soil, which in turn is responsible for the fertility. The manure generated is high quality and can be used in fields. This manure can be supplied to farmers at the rate of 4-5 Rs. per Kg. Alternatively municipal gardens and local gardens can be assured of regular manure from this biogas plant.

As the gas is generated in the main tank, the dome is slowly lifted up. This gas is a mixture of methane (70-75%), carbondioxide (10-15%) and water vapours (5-10%). It is taken through GI pipeline to the gas purification unit. Drains for condensed water vapour are provided on line. This gas burns with a blue flame and can be used for cooking as well.
The gas generated in this plant is used for gas lights fitted around the plant. The potential use of this gas would be for a canteen. The purified gas can be fed to bio fuel electric generator to produce electricity. Gas can be bottled and used to run vehicles.

Tanks of Biogas Plant
1.     Mixer with stirrer to mix hot water (1:2) to form a slurry,
2.     Aerobic Digester,
3.     Anaerobic digeter

Mechanical Items :
1.Gas Holding MS Steel Dome
2.Steel Fabricated Covers on Manure Pits,
3.Mixer Stirrer ,
4.Air Compressor
5.Gas Holder and gas purification system
6.Water Pump and Slurry Pump
7.Water and Gas Pipelines on Plant area
8. Electric Fittings & Miscellaneous

Cost details, saving and payback period from a biogas plant:

The cost details and the savings envisaged from the plant are given in the following table. The life of the plant could be 20-30 years and payback period is 4-5 years.
Capacity (Tons / Day)
Installation Cost (Rs In Lacks)
Monthly Operation and Maintenance Charges (Rs)
Methane Generation M3
Manure production (tons /day)
Area Required M2
Fresh Water (KL /day)
Hot water (Ltr / day of 50-60 C0)
Cooking Fuel (Equivalent to LPG Cyl / day)
10hp (4hr)
12-14 (25Kw)
1 cr -1.2 cr
15hp (4hr)
22-25 (50Kw)
* This is an approximate cost for biogas generation plant and may increase by 10%–20%, depending on location, site-specific parameters, cost of materials, labour cost, etc., in different states/cities. Cost of additional infrastructure like office space, toilets, security, Godown, Shades and power generation will be extra, if required.
Rs – rupees; m3 – cubic meters; m2 – square meters; h – hour; kL – kilolitre; LPG – liquefied petroleum gas; kW – kilowatt; cyl –

Decentralised treatment options introduced in new rules.

The earlier rules relied on costly centralised facilities for treating and disposing municipal wastes while approximately 50 per cent of it can be easily turned into compost at the local level. Thus, the draft rules have made the much-needed provision for providing incentives to decentralised waste treatment facilities.

Considering an average garbage generation per capita per day as 0.450 Kg, we can assume a total garbage generation for a population of 100,000 as 45,000 Kg per day

Proven on wide range of wastes and feedstocks including
  • Livestock and agricultural wastes
  • Biomass
  • Sewage and industrial sludges
  • MSW and catering wastes
  • Food industry wastes
  • Vegetable market waste
  • Restaurant Waste
  • Farm House/Cattle manure waste
  • Slaughter House/Tannery waste
  • Presumed waste
Suitable locations for installation of plant

Hotel premises, army/big establishment canteens (private/ government), residential schools/colleges, housing colonies, religious places / temple trusts, hospitals, hotels, sewage treatment plants, villages, etc.

Why Men Want Sex and Women Want Love

by Elena Solomon
Men are frustrated with women because they never want sex.
Women are frustrated with men because they always want sex.
Women blame men that they don't know how to love.
Men blame women that they only talk about love but don't want to make it.
Whether you are a man or a woman, reading this article can change your life - finally, you will be able to get rid of your frustrations about the opposite gender.
The reason humans want sex is due to the hormone testosterone, which is predominantly male hormone. A normal male's body produces 20 times more of this hormone than a female's.
In other words, a male feels the same way after one day without sex as a female after 20 days without sex. A male that has not had sex in 20 days feels the same way as a female after more than a year without sex.
Knowing this simple difference, you can already understand the pain of the opposite gender. It's NOT their fault: they are made this way! It's in our genes! This is the reason why men are men and women are women.
Men and women are DIFFERENT.
Not better or worse, just different.
A man can father a child every time he has sex, and a woman can only mother a child every two years or so. This means, a woman HAS TO be picky about who she allows to have sex with her.
For generations women were paying too high a price for making a wrong choice. Women that have chosen men with bad genes had a weaker offspring and their children struggled to survive. Women that have chosen men with good genes had a stronger offspring and their children survived disproportionably. Those children were carrying their picky mother's genes and this is why those female genes were passed to us.
On the other hand, men never had adverse consequences of making a wrong choice. The more children they produced, the higher was their chance to pass their genes to future generations, as some of them would certainly survive. While men were determined to seek better genes too, they had to grab all chances to procreate coming their way to ensure their genes would be passed forward. The men that ONLY stuck with one woman (even a high quality woman) were losing genetically to the men that used all of their opportunities and had many more children that survived. Those children were carrying their father's promiscuous genes, and this is why those male genes were passed to us.
By Nature men are made to seek as much sex as they can get, so they can spread their seed wider.
By Nature women are made to seek as many admirers as they can get, so they can make a better choice and get the best seed.
Men seek quantity - women seek quality.
This is why men seek sex and women seek love.
Love is the proof that a woman needs to have some assurance that the man will stick around and help her with the upbringing of the offspring. For a woman, sex is the culmination of her emotional commitment to a man.
For a man, sex is a physical act that eases the testosterone pressure he experiences constantly. Only after this tension has gone, can a man feel love towards a woman. This is why it often happens that men disappear after they got what they wanted: it wasn't love; it was the testosterone pressure. Sex for men is the reality check of their passion.
This is why having sex early in the relationship is hazardous for women: the man has not had the time to develop any romantic feelings for her. He needs time to develop those feelings, and the only way to do it is through keeping the sexual tension going for as long as practicable. Sex must be attainable, nearly possible - but not quite. When the sexual tension is at its peak, its release is mind-blowing - and once is never enough, which lays a proper foundation for a future relationship - and love.
Men fall in love through sex; women fall in sex through love.
All of this happens on the unconscious level - we do NOT realize what's going on.
But the reason why you are here today and alive is because each and every of your ancestors, men and women, acted true to their instincts and managed to attract at least one sexual partner and produce an offspring.
So, there is no need to be bitter about men wanting sex and women wanting love. Those two are the necessary pieces of the puzzle called Survival Of The Species.
And you'll be better off understanding what the other gender is going through and giving them exactly what they want: a mind-blowing sex or exhilarating love.
Go get 'em! :-)

Saleem Asraf Syed Imdaadullah, Founder, Syed Envo Protect (I) Pvt Ltd in the year 1994 & ENVO PROJECTS in the year 2001

When I was 10-12 yrs old, i heard Maulana Madani (Senior) RA say that if somebody follows just one sunnah steadfastly throughout his life thats sufficient for him. And pray for me that I can do something for the betterment of this world before I die.... Otherwise there is no meaning of my existence in this world. Doctors are making peoples health better...engineers are making living conditions better.... Alims are making spiritual lives better.

The philosophy behind my work in environmental engineering

NOW HAVE I DONE SOMETHING OR STILL DONT HAVE ANY GOAL IN, I have found in Quran majeed myself that the world is a gift from Allah and nobody has the right to destroy it… .So we don't have any right in making our rivers into drain (read yamuna river, bhorolu river), polluting our air with our car exhaust, littering the greens with solid waste…. I am trying my best in this regard …after forming ENVO.

Nature is a gift to us . No individual or organisation has the right dto utilise its resources in such a way that damage or inconvenience is caused  to  people of society . we all have a social responsibility to protect and preserve a clean and green environment. The goale of profit maximisation and customer satisfaction should be surbordinate to the social need and responsibilities. The present concern has been brought about by the health of humans, living being, tree , structures, monuments and all other things. It was repeatedly mentioned in the Qur'an: Forbidding from spoiling the earth after Allah (Exalted and Almighty) has created it suitable and well prepared for the successive human generations. It announced that Allah does not like spoiling or those who spoil in life, this includes spoiling environment, polluting it or being aggressive with it. Also it is forbidden to abuse it in any way that would make it deviate from the purpose of Allah created it for. This would be like showing ingratitude to Allah, that would cause vengeance from Allah, and becomes like a warning to those who perpetrated this, that severe penalty will almost come upon them as what happened before to the `Aad and the Thamud and those who came after them.
"Who did transgress beyond bounds in the land (in the disobedience of Allah) and made therein much mischief. So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. Surely your Lord is Ever-Watchful." (89:11-14) Islam urges its followers to have great concern for everything created by Allah, for it is part and parcel of "submission to Allah" to show reverence to all what the Almighty Allah created.

We cant be all rounder like our Prophet (PBUH),but atleast we can excel in one field and serve humnanity as he did.
May Allah accepts my hard work and bestow his blessings on me and forgive me for the major and minor SINS I make in every steps

My own DREAM---"ENVO" and to have its presence in every state of India. (Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

My Passion: My work. of water treatment, to clean the world gifted by god of the mess humans created.  ( Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.)

There is still a lot to learn, I try to learn from everybody and atleast one new thing every day : Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish

The World Only Cares About What It Can Get from You.

Change your attitude towards life. Do not look for perfection and CONTROL in everything in life. I understood that my livelihood (RIZQ)  cant be  taken away by  anyone.  Put your  best  efforts in what you do and than leave the result to ALLAH. I have plan but Allahs plan is much much better than mine. I have firm belief in ALLAH.

During this journey many people came and left me. I thank all of them for their contribution for my growth. They are destined to be with me for that particular period. This is Allah’s plan.

Always sleep with a clean heart. I know many of us get wronged throughout the day or have gotten wronged in the past. Forgive. Not only forgive, but forgive and forget. Dont even hold a grudge against that person in your heart. Keep your heart completely pure.Forgive brothers and sisters before you sleep each night. this is one of the practices of the greatest people ever to live and this is how we will reach those highest levels of spirituality.

Forgiveness is good for your own well being, its about giving yourself permission to let go of the painful past. Forgiveness is not something we do for that particular toxic person,it is something we do for ourselves so we can move on to a better future. We forgive, not because that toxic person deserves it,but because we deserve peace, for a pure heart.
Read quran ,Sura 24:22 , sura 2:263 , sura3:133-134  , sura7:199, sura 15:85, sura 45:14

Ending this article with a hadith

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated:"Show mercy and you shall be shown mercy.Forgive others and you shall be forgiven by Allah."(Musnad Ahmad)
