How to purify your heart spiritually in islam Tasawwuf sufism

How to purify your  heart  spiritually in islam Tasawwuf sufism
I have compiled the following as a reminder for myself and for those searching for similar advice. You may share with your friends and relatives. Its sadka e zaariya.

How to purify your  heart  spiritually in islam (Tasawwuf / Sufism)

DEATH CAN COME SUDDENLY.
“A day in which neither wealth nor children shall be of any benefit, except one who comes to God with a sound heart” (Sūrat’l-Shu‘arā’: 88-89).
"Every soul shall have a taste of death: In the end to Us shall you be brought back." (29:57)

and the Almighty says, “No self knows what it will earn tomorrow and no self knows in what land it will die.” (W31:33; H31:34)
The Almighty says, “When their specified time arrives, they cannot delay it for a single hour nor can they bring it forward,” (16:61)
Spiritual purification of the self is the essence of Islamic teachings. Knowledge of this science was traditionally learned by keeping company with good teachers and righteous companions. So taking bayah under a peer and practicing under him for a long long time is a must to purify the heart.Basically he is your spiritual teacher. The way you follow your teachers in school and colleges, the same way you have to follow him..
How to purify your  heart  spiritually in islam (Tasawwuf / Sufism)
NUMBER ONE :    The Obligatory Prayers
This one is so obvious it doesn’t need to be stated. However, the reality is, most of us struggle to keep up with our five prayers on time. Those already doing this should work on offering the voluntary prayers (sunnan rawatib) and supererogatory prayers (dhuda, ishrāq, alāt’l-wuū’ etc).
NUMBER TWO :Have a daily reading of Qur’ān
Whether it is a hizb (i.e. 1/60  of Quran)a few pages or a few lines, pick an amount that you can commit to reading from the Qur’ān everyday. Make it a routine to read that amount after one of the obligatory prayers—after Fajr is usually the best time to do so.
NUMBER THREE: Daily Supplications (tasbeeh) for Morning or Evenings
Having a regular supplication (a designated amount) of tasbeeh (Darud, ashtagfaar etc) is also necessary in one’s daily routine. The Prophet (PBUH) recommended supplications for mornings or evenings. Your spiritual guide will  tell you what to do.. Set aside a time, usually after Fajr or Maghrib, to recite them.
NUMBER FOUR: DHIKR & MURAKABA: Advanced stage. It must be done under your peers/shaikhs personal observation.
The last piece of advice is to make du‘ā’ and dua all the time to Allah in your native mother toungue by a) Praising Allah, b(By praising Prophet (SA),c)By asking Forgiveness from all sins d) by avoiding sins. Practical measures outlined above need to be coupled with constant prayer asking God to grant you a pure heart. In addition, while sins are inevitable, an active effort needs to be made to avoid sins we commit consistently. As mentioned earlier, sins are barriers that limit the opportunity to do good works; avoiding them and constantly seeking forgiveness is therefore vital.
HOW TO DO IT:
1.Recognizing the offence itself and its admission before Allah and the person against whom offense was committed.
2.Making a commitment not to repeat the offense.
3.Asking for forgiveness from Allah and the offended person.
4.Doing whatever needs to be done to rectify the offence within permissible limits.
Allah loves those who constantly repent (Qur’ān  Sūrat’l-Baqarah: 222); our Prophet (  PBUH Say Darud), the best of creation, would seek repentance over 70 times a day;
Sins are barriers which restrict the opportunity to do good works; so begin your journey with sincere repentance. List all of the main sins you aim to eliminate in the future and ask forgiveness for those sins specifically. A specific repentance with the intention of starting on a spiritual quest will act as a starting line for you. It will put you in the right frame of mind and will allow you to be cognizant of committing these sins again.

Death is inevitable. It is the one thing that we can be certain about in life. We are born to die. Every soul shall have a taste of death no matter who they are. This is confirmed for us many times in the Quran:

"Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense." (Quran 3:185)

"Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good, by way of trial. To Us must you return." (21:35)

and the Almighty says, “O you who believe! Do not let your wealth or children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. Whoever does that is lost. Give from what We have provided for you before death comes to one of you and he says, ‘O Lord, if only you would give me a little more time so that I can give sadaqa and be one of the righteous.’ Allah will not give anyone more time, once their time has come. Allah is aware of everything you do.” (63:9-11)
Ibn ‘Umar used to say, “In the evening, do not anticipate the morning, and in the morning do not anticipate the evening. Take from your health for your illness and from your life for your death.” [al-Bukhari]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Remember often the destroyer of pleasures,” by which he meant death.Source: Sunan ibn Majah 4258, Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
Always sleep with a clean heart. I know many of us get wronged throughout the day or have gotten wronged in the past. Forgive. Not only forgive, but forgive and forget. Dont even hold a grudge against that person in your heart. Keep your heart completely pure.Forgive brothers and sisters before you sleep each night. this is one of the practices of the greatest people ever to live and this is how we will reach those highest levels of spirituality.

Forgiveness is good for your own well being, its about giving yourself permission to let go of the painful past.Forgiveness is not something we do for that particular toxic person,it is something we do for ourselves so we can move on to a better future. We forgive, not because that toxic person deserves it,but because we deserve peace, for a pure heart.

Ending this article with a hadith
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated:"Show mercy and you shall be shown mercy.Forgive others and you shall be forgiven by Allah."(Musnad Ahmad)

LOVE HUMANITY IRRESPECTIVE OF RELIGION, LOVE ANIMALS, TREES AND ALL OF GODS CREATIONS. IF YOU CAN NOT LOVE AND ADMIRE GODS CREATION, HOW CAN YOU THINK ABOUT ADMIRING THE GREATNESS OF GOD.

Assalaam Alaikum.
I read the article "How to purify your heart spiritually in islam in three steps". It is very easy to follow. According to me, we should all study under Arab scholars. They have excellent character, they are the best. They can help us in learning about basic characteristics which are prevalent in all men and women of our walk of life, thereby instilling sabr and bravery and all types of good traits. Rasulullah PBUH said, Ya Allah! I seek protection from LAZINESS...

Laziness is the frontrunner in STOPPING us from ibadat, deterring us from asking scholars, and keeping us an outsider from the educated Muslim community.
Other than that, the drastically lessening number of people trying to learn the Arabic language, for a start, is another reason for us not being able to understand the Quran and Hadith as Rasulullah SAWS wanted us to.
So, we all should go for Haj and Umrah and establish good relations with the scholars who light up the masjids of Makkah and Madinah.
The article is very accurate in the sense that it tells us to read the Quran daily, pray 5 times, do dua for guidance, and remember Allah SWT at all times.
These certainly help us in understanding our day-to-day life and situations, which put us in a lot of thought about our Creator, who is He, Why did He create us.
He is Most High and All Powerful. He wants us to treat the Mushrikeen with patience and remember that He is Most Merciful.
We are all alone in this whole wide world.
Surrounded by people who are seeking our position, our beloved house, our hard-earned dollars and our MONEY.

So we should ask Allah to give us the brains and intelligence to outwit all our haasids and bad-wishing people.
Quran:
[Wa min sharri haasidin...]
(Ya Allah) I seek your protection from the dangers a haasid presents!

Allah SWT will then surely grant our request and increase our awareness of our enemies (He will cause the bad man to take a misstep, thereby making his enmity known to us.)
Allah SWT also guides us through dreams.
People see dreams of failing their exams. So from then on, they start to study properly and treat their teachers with respect.

Some see themselves winning a prize. So they bear the difficulties with patience keeping the prize in mind.

So all in all, the article stresses upon the fundamental concepts of Islamic life, and presents a procedure of purifying our hearts that each and every one of us can easily understand and try to implement in our lifestyle successfully.
